Enterprise ICT Infrastructure is evolving rapidly with on-premise infrastructure and enterprise solutions getting cloud enabled and smart devices ready, at a fast clip. Across both mature and emerging geographies, we are witnessing a trend of Hybrid IT environments dominating enterprise IT architectures, underscoring the importance of provider competencies in the old-world legacy environments as well as the new world "as a service" operating models.
Close to 1/3 of CIOs globally, seem to have a cloud, mobile, social initiative planned. Disruptive technology trends like Social, Mobility, Analytics and Cloud are rapidly becoming expected capabilities, integrated into most technology projects. With Customers not perceiving these necessarily as separate services or even differentiators, we need to get a deeper insight on how Enterprise IT Infrastructure and its Managed services providers, scale to blend and bridge their traditional offerings with these new paradigms.
Another trend we are witnessing globally is an increasing slice of the budget for new IT initiatives and spend decisions, particularly in these new paradigms being outside of central IT. Business heads/CXOs in sales and marketing, finance and supply chain are controlling or influencing new technology initiatives in SMAC. Are these buyers looking at in-year results and short-term business returns on technology investments, compared to Central IT, who may have had a 3-4 year horizon on Technology ROI? Are these buyers, more inclined to shift from proprietary IT assets unique to their company, managed by long-term complex outsourcing contracts? Are these buyers, beyond central IT, helping enterprises to evaluate IT assets that are widely available to many companies, including their competitors, and delivered through new delivery models and cloud services, with a higher degree of flexibility and agility from their IT Services providers?
NASSCOM Infrastructure Management Summit 2013, August 21st and 22nd, Bangalore aims to address Enterprise IT priorities and the co-innovation that is happening with service providers. We will debate and discuss enterprise mobility challenges, next wave of growth in data centers, data centres and traditional hosting co-opting Cloud, next-Gen networks and keeping your data secure and much more. The two day conference is themed around Future Forward: Strategies for the next-gen enterprises. The event would see global leaders and practitioners discuss topics ranging from top spots to focus in cloud and mobility space to mobile innovation; from SLAs in cloud computing to building the next generation data center; from convergence of mobile computing and cloud to securing the unknown.
In the current scenario, customers no longer have the Management will, budget or time to learn from failed IT projects. The customer landscape clearly seems to be headed towards placing a premium on a IT Service provider with customer references and IP Assets that can drive in-year business outcomes from their IT initiatives.
Creating a dynamic mobile enterprise, the strategy needs to encompass devices, platforms, networks, applications, social media/unified communications and security. It's a complex environment and organisations are looking for best-practice and success stories from their providers. The combination of mobility, consumerisation, social business and cloud have combined to create a tumultuous and exciting IT environment for vendors, partners and enterprise organisations.
Come join the debate on all these issues, grappling customers and service providers and go back informed.
The conference would provide insights to plan ahead and leave you with enough to chart out your infrastructure strategies for the year ahead. Do ensure that you mark the dates in your calendar and block your seat to be with your peers and stalwarts of the industry.
